Known widely as Floating Bungalows, these authentic Thai raft houses are popular accommodations for world travelers visiting Khao Sok National Park. Generally serene and secluded, staying in a floating bungalow is a great way to commune with the abundance of  nature surrounding this scenic area.

Khao Sok Lake Modern floating Bungalows are the middle path to comfort in Nature and feature elevated beds and usually a fan. The National Park Authority recently mandated that all new bungalows must be of this quality or above. Usually made out of concrete or synthetic wood, Khao Sok Lake Modern Floating Bungalows usually feature metal guard rails and a more even and modern walkway. Some have shared bathrooms and some have in-room bathrooms. These bungalows have a slightly higher price point, but are worth it if you like a a more modern accommodation.

Sai Chon Raft House

Sai Chon is one of the more accessible raft houses on the lake.  Only about 40 minutes by boat, this makes Sai Chon an ideal location for groups looking to have a shorter boat ride to get to their raft house.  Also located near Coral Cave, Sai Chon raft house is a great location for groups that prefer an easier hike.

Smiley Raft House

Smiley Floating Bungalows are situated at the entrance to Klong Pey and are locally owned and operated by one of Khao Sok's oldest families. The friendly staff here are accustomed to foreign travelers making it a favorite for back packers.  It is close to the Nam Talu Cave, Viewpoint Hike, and the Bang Hoy Waterfall.

The larger rooms at Smiley can accommodate up to 4 people making it a great place for families or bigger groups traveling together.  The rooms at Smiley were just newly added this January, making them a nice and comfortable modern option for travelers.  These bungalows are sometimes booked for Modern Comforts experiences, especially for younger travelers who enjoy the backpacker atmosphere.  We are also more than happy to arrange for a private tour.

Plern Prai Raft House

Pern Plai Raft House is easily accessible and offers both rustic and modern style bungalows, making it a great place for large groups or families.These bungalows are also booked for Modern Comforts experiences. 

Plern Prai raft house features concrete or beautiful hand-carved wooden bungalows, and caters to a varied and international crowd of tourists and locals alike. It’s proximity to the Coral cave and occasional cell phone reception make it ideal for anyone wanting to get way from it all, but still be reachable.

Putawan Raft House

A local favorite, the Putowan Raft House boasts newly upgraded facilities and offers both standard and deluxe rooms. With easy access to both Diamond and Nam Taloo caves, it's perfect for family vacations and romantic getaways alike.

Putawan Raft House is conveniently located only 35 minutes from the Ratchaparraba Pier and boasts newly upgraded facilities. It’s perfect for family vacations and romantic getaways alike. Because it is one of the newer raft houses, and privately owned, the restaurant offers a more diverse menu and a gift shop. It is also a local favorite, so don’t be surprised if the locals staying there teach you a little Thai!
